On August 20, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in downtown Macon, Georgia, resulting in the death of 30-year-old Robert Evans, also known as Robb Cain. The incident took place at the intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd and Poplar Street shortly after 4:00 a.m. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a person shot and found Evans, who had been involved in a fight during which multiple shots were fired at him.
