Jerry Lewis Burke Jr., a 34-year-old Black man from Macon, was killed on August 30, 2023, in a daytime shooting outside the Circle K at 4314 Pio Nono Avenue. According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office and local news reports, deputies were sent to the store at about 2:17 p.m. on a report of a person shot.
