Hakeem Flowers, a 16-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on June 20, 2022, in Macon, Georgia. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. in a vacant lot on Mason Street. Hakeem, who was affectionately known as "Little Red" by his friends, was remembered as a fun-loving and determined young man. He was working hard to finish high school early at Soar Academy to support his mother and newborn son. His death marked the 30th homicide in Macon-Bibb County for the year.
