In what should have been the blissful early days of their marriage, a domestic argument spiraled into a fatal encounter for 61-year-old Albert Leroy Blash. On a Monday afternoon, just after 1:00 p.m., what began as a verbal dispute between Blash and his wife of only three weeks, 48-year-old Tomeko Hughes Thompson Blash, escalated into physical violence inside their West Macon home on Leone Drive. The confrontation reached a tragic climax when Tomeko shot her husband once in the chest with a semi-automatic pistol.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and Albert Blash was rushed to the Navicent Health Medical Center. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he was pronounced deceased. Following the incident, Tomeko Blash was taken into custody for questioning by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities later arrested Tomeko Blash and charged her with manslaughter in connection with her husband's death. She was subsequently booked into the Bibb County Jail and was being held without bond. According to Sheriff David Davis, there had been no prior calls to the couple's residence, and their neighbors were unaware of any issues in their relationship. Tomeko's teenage daughter was reportedly in the house at the time of the shooting but did not witness the incident.
