On January 24, 2023, a death investigation was initiated by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office following a report of a shooting at 2419 Pio Nono Avenue, near Mrs. Winners restaurant in Macon, Georgia. At 12:07 p.m., deputies responded to a call of a person shot inside a truck near the roadway. Upon arrival, they found a male subject, later identified as 60-year-old Robert Clayton Wells of Dublin, Georgia, suffering from a gunshot wound in the driver's seat.
