On July 24, 2021, Donovan Munir Cason, a 20-year-old African American male from Macon, Georgia, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident. The incident occurred during a large fight on the sidewalk at the corner of Cherry Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in downtown Macon. As deputies and emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene, they found Donovan Munir Cason unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
