The incident, which unfolded in the early hours of May 19, 2021, took place in the parking lot of the Reliance Food Mart on Napier Avenue. McCrary was discovered inside his vehicle, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bibb County Coroner's Office.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office launched a homicide investigation into the shooting, which also left two other individuals injured.
