On July 14, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the 5700 block of Satterfield Drive in Macon, Georgia. The Macon-Bibb 911 Center received a call at 6:42 a.m. regarding a person who had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the victim, identified as 36-year-old Christopher Wynes of Macon, was pronounced dead at the scene by Bibb County Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley.
