On May 9, 2020, 20-year-old Octavius Savon Nixon, an African American male from Macon, Georgia, was tragically found unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his head and arm at the Pendleton Homes apartment complex located at 3401 Houston Avenue. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene at approximately 6:09 a.m., where Nixon was pronounced dead upon arrival. The investigation revealed that Nixon had been shot near building O of the complex, and his death was classified as a homicide.
