In Macon, Georgia, on the night of May 29, 2021, a dispute between two men escalated into a fatal encounter. The life of Desmond 'Boot' L. Wright, a 46-year-old male, was cut short in a shooting that took place in the 1500 block of Long Acre Drive. The incident unfolded around 9:40 p.m., leaving Wright with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
