On May 22, 2023, 16-year-old Derrick Jamarion Putmon II was found unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 600 block of Williams Street in Macon, Georgia. Deputies responded to a ShotSpotter alert just after 2 a.m. and discovered Derrick, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley.
