In the early morning hours of January 14, 2024, the life of 42-year-old Clifford Tyrone Browner, a male from Macon, Georgia, was tragically cut short. Bibb County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the 1000 block of Triple Hill Drive at approximately 3:35 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Browner suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and transported him to Atrium Health Navicent for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he was pronounced deceased at 4:18 a.m.
The investigation into the shooting death of Clifford Tyrone Browner led authorities to two suspects. With the assistance of the Gang Unit and the SRT Unit, Bibb County Sheriff's Office investigators were able to connect 24-year-old Dequavia Pollard and 25-year-old Amore Calhoun to the incident. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident on the evening of January 19, 2024. They were subsequently transported to the Bibb County jail.
Both Dequavia Pollard and Amore Calhoun are facing serious charges in connection with Mr. Browner's death. The charges brought against them include Murder and Criminal Street Gang Activity. They are being held without bond. Further investigation revealed that Pollard was also a suspect in a separate homicide that occurred in August of 2023, which resulted in the death of 38-year-old Calvin Hugley Jr. The investigation into Clifford Tyrone Browner's death is ongoing.
