On May 9, 2022, 16-year-old Kymelo Early, an African American male, was tragically shot and killed in Macon, Georgia. The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. in the parking lot of Friends Food Mart located at 3350 Houston Avenue. According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, Kymelo was with a group of friends when the shooting happened. He was immediately transported to the Medical Center, Atrium Health Navicent, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
