In the late hours of a Saturday night in east Macon, a dispute tragically escalated, ending the life of 31-year-old Kyle Alexander Brown. On January 25, 2025, just before 11 p.m., deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office were called to the 3900 block of Hattie Drive following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Brown suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency services transported Brown to Atrium Health Navicent, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead by the medical staff. Investigators learned that Brown had been involved in an altercation shortly before the sound of gunshots filled the air. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office immediately began an investigation into the homicide, appealing to the public for any information that could lead to an arrest.
For two months, the case remained under active investigation until a breakthrough came in late March. On March 28, 2025, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office received a crucial tip regarding the location of a suspect. Acting on this information, law enforcement officials located and arrested Ricky Terrell Parks Jr. in the vicinity of Flewellyn Drive in East Macon. Parks was subsequently charged with the murder of Kyle Brown and is being held at the Bibb County Jail without bond.
Kyle Alexander Brown, born on February 6, 1993, was a father to two children, a son and a daughter. He was a truck driver by profession and was remembered by his family for his kind heart and infectious laughter. His death left a void in the lives of his parents, siblings, and children.
