In the late afternoon of July 10, 2019, a burst of violence at a Macon, Georgia, gas station tragically cut short the life of 20-year-old Randon Shamar Hogan. The young man, a resident of Macon, was at the Shell Gas Station located at 3750 Mercer University Drive when he was shot in the chest. Despite being rushed to the nearby Navicent Health hospital, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival around 3:00 p.m. The shooting marked the 12th homicide in Macon for that year.
The investigation into Hogan's death quickly centered on a single suspect: 19-year-old Bradford Devonte Anderson, also from Macon. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office issued a public appeal for assistance in locating Anderson, for whom a murder warrant had been signed. Authorities described Anderson and noted he was last seen driving a dark-colored Honda Accord.
A few days following the public appeal, the search for the suspect came to a peaceful conclusion. On July 15, 2019, Bradford Anderson turned himself in to the authorities without incident. He was subsequently taken into custody and faced a charge of murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Randon Hogan.
