In the fading daylight of a Tuesday evening in Macon, Georgia, the life of 25-year-old Lewis Frazier III was cut short by gunfire. On October 8, 2019, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Frazier was on Wren Avenue when an altercation broke out, leading to a fatal shooting. He was a Black male. When Bibb County sheriff's deputies arrived at the 1700 block of the street, they found Frazier with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man, 23-year-old Malik Tajhae Young, was also injured in the incident and was rushed to a local medical center in critical condition. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office opened an investigation into the shooting, which was declared the 19th homicide of the year in the county. In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement appealed to the public for any information that could shed light on the events of that night and lead to the identification of those responsible for Frazier's death.
Despite the initial investigation and public calls for assistance, there have been no subsequent announcements from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in the murder of Lewis Frazier III. Tragically, the other victim in the shooting, Malik Tajhae Young, was himself shot and killed in a separate incident in Macon just over a year later, in November 2020. The case of Lewis Frazier III's death remains unresolved, leaving a void in the lives of his family and friends and an unanswered question of who was responsible for the violence that ended his life.
