On August 19, 2023, Calvin Thomas Hugley Jr., a 38-year-old resident of Macon, Georgia, was fatally shot in a violent incident that occurred in the early morning hours. The shooting took place at a large gathering at a "bootleg" house located in the 800 block of Woodard Avenue in Macon.
