In the summer of 2023, on the Fourth of July, a 24-year-old Black man named Chasin Homer was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Grove Adams Park apartment complex in southwest Atlanta. The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. at the complex located on Delowe Drive. When Atlanta police officers arrived at the scene, they found Homer with gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the location.
