In the late hours of a Tuesday night in Atlanta, tragedy befell 17-year-old Kevelle Byrd, a Black male, forever altering the lives of his family and friends. On September 9, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire echoed through the Villages at Carver apartment complex on Moury Avenue SW. Responding officers discovered the young man near the entrance to his own apartment, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
