In the late fall of 2014, the life of Dontavis Eugene Davis, a 24-year-old male from Atlanta, was tragically cut short. On November 22, officers responded to a call of shots fired at 3003 Middleton Road. Upon arrival, they found Dontavis Davis in the courtyard with a gunshot wound to his stomach. Though he was alert when authorities first arrived, he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Investigators at the scene recovered five shell casings and noted a bullet hole in the door of a parked car.
Initially, the Atlanta police did not have a suspect in the fatal shooting. However, in March of the following year, authorities publicly identified 19-year-old Tavalas Randarius Beasley as the primary suspect in the homicide of Dontavis Davis. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and the police sought help from the community to locate him.
The search for Beasley came to an end on April 2, 2015, when the Atlanta Police Department's fugitive unit located and apprehended him. Beasley was subsequently charged with murder and armed robbery in connection with the death of Dontavis Eugene Davis. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Fulton County jail to await his first court appearance.
