In the early morning hours of August 26, 2023, the life of 37-year-old Corey Keon Reid, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Decatur, Georgia. The incident unfolded around 3 a.m. near a Chase Bank located in the 2700 block of Candler Road, an area typically bustling with activity surrounding the Gallery at South DeKalb mall.
