On a Thursday morning, October 10, 2019, tragedy struck in the parking lot of the Oyo Hotel on Wesley Club Drive in Decatur, Georgia. Dominic Turnese, a 27-year-old male contractor, was at the hotel for work with his colleague, Dane Simmons. It was around 9:30 a.m. when the two men were suddenly targeted by a gunman who opened fire. The violent encounter left Turnese dead and Simmons critically injured.
