In the late afternoon of a Thursday in Albany, Georgia, the life of 21-year-old NeAhmad Jayshawn Alfred, a male, was tragically cut short. On November 30, 2023, at approximately 2:26 p.m., a burst of gunfire erupted at the Woodlands apartment complex on Gillionville Road, a scene that would soon be flooded with the flashing lights of law enforcement. When the chaos subsided, Alfred and another young man, 21-year-old Tyler Marquise Graham, lay dead, both having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. A third individual, 20-year-old Kesha Walton, was also struck by gunfire but survived.
The initial investigation by the Albany Police Department quickly painted a grim picture of a violent altercation that had spiraled out of control. It appeared to be a shootout among a group of individuals who had arrived at the apartment complex together in the same vehicle. Within moments of exiting the car, the gunfire began, leaving two dead and one wounded.
