In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Dublin, Georgia, a dispute that began between employees at a local Burger King escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 19-year-old Jeremiah D'Angelo Watkins. On December 3, 2023, Watkins, who was not an employee, arrived at the fast-food restaurant on Veterans Boulevard with another 19-year-old, Johnny Hall. An argument that had started earlier among the restaurant's staff continued to unfold, drawing Watkins and Hall into a physical altercation in the parking lot.
The confrontation in the parking lot took a deadly turn as both Watkins and Hall produced firearms and began shooting at one another. In the exchange of gunfire, both men were struck, as was a woman who was with Hall at the scene. Jeremiah Watkins succumbed to his injuries.
