In the early afternoon of a Sunday in February 2017, tragedy struck in Indianapolis, forever altering the lives of one family. On February 5th, 31-year-old Brandon Thomas was found lying in the street in the 3100 block of Forest Manor Avenue on the city's northeast side. He had sustained at least one gunshot wound.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene around 1:00 p.m., finding Thomas in critical condition. Medics quickly transported him to IU Health-Methodist Hospital in an eff ...
