In the late morning of Wednesday, September 11, 2024, a sense of unease settled over the 400 block of Jones Village Lane in Dublin, Georgia. Just before noon, at approximately 11:55 a.m., the Dublin Police Department received a dispatch call about a shooting and officers were sent to a residence in the area. Inside the home, they discovered 35-year-old Cortez Kearic Hicks suffering from gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
