On December 3, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on the southside of Savannah, Georgia, resulting in the death of 26-year-old Jaquan Mylik Byrd. The incident took place at the intersection of White Bluff and Montgomery Crossroads. Savannah Police Department (SPD) responded to the scene just before 8 p.m. and found Byrd suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being transported to Memorial Medical Center, Byrd was pronounced dead at 8:27 p.m. due to his injuries.
