The scene was active with law enforcement and emergency personnel after Columbus Police Officers were dispatched to the location at approximately 8:30 a.m.
Despite the efforts of first responders, Jackson's injuries were too severe. The Muscogee County Coroner was called to the scene and pronounced Derrick Jackson dead at 9:20 a.m.
