A sense of normalcy was shattered on the afternoon of Monday, September 18, 2023, in Columbus, Georgia, when 15-year-old De’Shunvia Lindsey, a Black male, was tragically killed in a brazen drive-by shooting. The incident unfolded at approximately 5:13 p.m. at the Fluellen Recreational Center, a place typically filled with the sounds of children playing and community members enjoying the outdoor space.
