Tayquann James, a 36-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on February 1, 2021, in Columbus, Georgia. James, who was visiting Columbus from his home in Patterson, New Jersey, was found suffering from a gunshot wound at a residence on Steam Mill Road. Columbus Police responded to the scene around 5:16 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Despite the efforts of Fire and EMS personnel, James was pronounced dead just before 6 a.m.
