In the early hours of April 10, 2024, the life of 28-year-old Anthonio Dewayne McNeill was tragically cut short in a shooting at a Macon, Georgia hotel. The incident unfolded just before 3:30 a.m. at the Haven Inn Suites on Holiday Drive North. Bibb County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene following a report of a person shot and, upon arrival, discovered McNeill suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics rendered aid, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene by the deputy coroner.
The investigation into McNeill's death quickly led to the identification of suspects. On April 16, 2024, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, apprehended 36-year-old Lakesia Renee Williams at the Economy Hotel on Pio Nono Ave. She was taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder.
Further developments in the case came to light with the arrests of two additional individuals. Eighteen-year-old Xalayah Nahri Green and 20-year-old Peair Dennard Harvey were taken into custody on April 22, 2024, at a residence on Tredway Drive. Investigators believe they were also involved in the death of McNeill, as well as another homicide that occurred just over an hour later on the same day. Both Green and Harvey are facing two counts of murder for their alleged roles in the separate incidents. All three suspects are currently being held without bond.
