1st Lt. Dillon Lee Mitchell, a 30-year-old male soldier from Fort Hood, Texas, was found dead on May 25, 2015, at his on-post residence. The cause of death was an apparent gunshot wound. Mitchell, whose home of record was Berrien Springs, Michigan, was assigned to the Brigade Engineer Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.
