In the early morning hours of May 28, 2024, the life of 35-year-old Mariana Greene Mitchell was tragically cut short. A Black/African American female from Decatur, Georgia, she was discovered deceased inside a room at the Efficiency Lodge on Flat Shoals Road. Her death was the result of gun violence.

Responding to a call around 4:30 a.m., DeKalb County police found Mitchell at the scene. Alongside her, authorities found 33-year-old Lamar Pringle, who had also been shot. Pringle was transp ...
