A night of celebration at a neighborhood block party in East Point, Georgia, turned into a scene of tragedy, claiming the life of 24-year-old Andrea Priester. On the evening of Saturday, July 6, 2024, Priester, a female, was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of senseless violence. She was leaving the large gathering, attended by more than 100 people, near the area of Harlan Drive and Cedar Avenue when a dispute escalated into gunfire.
Priester was seated in the back of a car when multiple shots were fired at the vehicle, striking her in the back.
Paramedics rushed the young mother to Grady Memorial Hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. Another man was also wounded in the shooting. A graduate of Roswell High School, Andrea Priester was a single mother devoted to her two young sons, ages six and two. To encourage witnesses to step forward, Crime Stoppers Atlanta is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for Andrea Priester's death. Her grieving family has also offered an additional $1,000, bringing the total potential reward to $3,000. Her parents have made public pleas for answers and justice for their daughter, expressing their profound grief and the devastating impact her sudden death has had on their family. The investigation remains ongoing as a family and a community mourn the loss of a young life cut short.
