On October 18, 2016, 34-year-old Tychika Hefflin was shot and killed outside her apartment complex in southwest Atlanta. As she walked toward her apartment on Harwell Road, a Toyota Corolla pulled into the complex. A man exited the car, approached her, and shot her once in the neck. After the shooting, the suspect fled with her purse, leading investigators to believe the motive was likely robbery.
