In the fall of 2023, the life of 18-year-old Gabriella Dixon, a young mother of two from Macon, Georgia, took a tragic turn. She was last seen on October 27, 2023, and was reported missing three days later after she failed to arrive at her father's house. Her ex-boyfriend and the father of her children, Reginald Harris, was supposed to have dropped her off.
Concerns for her safety were heightened by previous incidents, including a report from the month before her disappearance that Harris had choked her, and threatened her with a gun.
For nearly a year, Gabriella's whereabouts remained a painful mystery for her family and friends. The search for answers came to a grim conclusion on July 24, 2024, when construction workers discovered human remains in a wooded area in Monroe County. The following day, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office confirmed their belief that the remains were those of Gabriella Dixon. Her family expressed that they were 99% certain it was her, based on the hair and clothing found with the body.
The investigation into Gabriella's disappearance and death led to the arrests of two men. In November 2023, while she was still considered a missing person, her ex-boyfriend, Reginald Harris, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and battery related to family violence. Following the discovery of her remains, warrants for murder were served to him at the Bibb County jail. Another man, Jatarvius Price, was also implicated in the case. He was initially arrested on November 17, 2023, and charged with making false statements and tampering with evidence. After the discovery of Dixon's body, Price was arrested again at a home in Monroe County and faced a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.
