On March 28, 2022, four-year-old Janiyah Jenkins, an African American girl from Atlanta, GA, tragically lost her life after finding an unsecured gun in her home. The incident occurred in DeKalb County, where Janiyah discovered the firearm left out in plain view by her uncle, Levante Cummings.
