Janiyah Jenkins, a 4-year-old Black girl from Atlanta, was at a home on Bouldercrest Road in DeKalb County on the night of March 28, 2022, when what should have been an ordinary evening turned into a family nightmare. Police were called shortly before 10 p.m. after she suffered a gunshot wound inside the home. Family accounts carried by local news said her mother had just finished bathing the children when the shot rang out. A relative rushed Janiyah to the hospital, but the wound was too severe ...
