A 33-year-old mother, April Sparks, was tragically killed on a summer evening in Atlanta, Georgia, after making an impromptu stop at a local park to watch a softball game. On Sunday, August 7, 2022, Sparks had just left her father's home with her children when she decided to visit Rosa L. Burney Park, where friends and community members were gathered for a softball game. It was a detour that would prove fatal.
