In a tragic event that unfolded on July 12, 2021, Claudia Settle, a 36-year-old Caucasian woman, lost her life in her Lawrenceville, Georgia, home. The incident, which authorities have described as a murder-suicide, also resulted in the death of her husband, 41-year-old Henry Settle.
Gwinnett County police were called to the couple's residence on Braemore Mill Drive at approximately 9:30 a.m. for a domestic dispute. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a grim scene in an upstairs bedroom. Both Claudia and Henry Settle were found with gunshot wounds. Henry Settle was pronounced dead at the scene from what investigators believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Claudia Settle was rushed to a local hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators have concluded that Henry Settle shot his wife before taking his own life. While the exact motive for the murder-suicide remains under investigation, some reports indicate that the couple had been going through a divorce. The couple's two young children were found unharmed downstairs in the home at the time of the incident.
As the perpetrator, Henry Settle, was deceased at the scene, no arrests were made in connection with Claudia Settle's death.
