In a tragic turn of events stemming from a domestic dispute, a Lawrenceville man lost his life. On a late Thursday night in March 2020, police were called to the Fairway View apartments in Duluth. There, they discovered 30-year-old Derek Whiteside and a 33-year-old woman, Evelyn Chairse, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, Whiteside was pronounced dead at the scene.
