In a quiet home on Jordan Woods Drive in Lawrenceville, a father's concern for his daughter, Patricia Murray, led to a grim discovery. When he was unable to reach 32-year-old Patricia, he went to check on her, only to find her deceased inside the residence. A call to 911 brought Gwinnett County police to the scene on that Saturday in April 2014.
Upon their arrival, officers began a thorough search of the house.
It was during this search that they located a second deceased individual, a male. The subsequent investigation by law enforcement identified the man as 34-year-old Raul Covarrubias.
Authorities concluded that the tragic event was an apparent murder-suicide. They determined that Covarrubias had killed Patricia Murray before taking his own life. The Gwinnett County police did not release specific details on how the two individuals died. There were no arrests to be made as the sole suspect was also deceased.
