On a Saturday morning in April 2018, the life of 33-year-old Gentorica Wright of Lawrenceville, Georgia, was tragically cut short in a murder-suicide. The devastating chain of events began when her husband, 48-year-old Kalvin Wright, took their three young children to the leasing office of the Sugar Mill Apartment complex.
The children, all under the age of 10, informed the staff that their father had shot their mother inside their apartment. After leaving the children, Kalvin Wright went back to the apartment. The leasing office staff promptly called 911, and due to the potential of a barricaded gunman, the Gwinnett County SWAT team was activated.
Upon making entry into the apartment, SWAT officers discovered both Gentorica and Kalvin Wright deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. The Gwinnett County Homicide Unit began an investigation, believing the incident to be domestic in nature. It was reported that the couple had been experiencing marital issues. The children, who were in the apartment when their mother was shot, were placed in the care of family members.
