In the quiet early morning hours of October 12, 2024, a 17-year-old female named Beatriz Vega was found in a car with 19-year-old Roberto Deleon in Douglasville, Georgia. Both were suffering from critical gunshot wounds. The discovery was made after an automated crash alert from an iPhone was sent to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, leading them to the 3200 block of West Stewart Mill Road. However, upon arrival, deputies found no evidence of a car accident.
