In the late afternoon of July 30, 2023, a dispute in the Brentwood area of Northeast Washington, D.C. turned fatal. Terence Akindo, a 24-year-old male, was shot and killed in the 2300 block of 13th Place, NE. Emergency services responded to the scene around 4:48 p.m. and transported Akindo to a local hospital, but life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. He had sustained gunshot wounds to his head and chest.
