On July 30, 2023, a homicide occurred on the 2300 block of 13th Place, Northeast, in Washington, D.C. The victim, identified as 24-year-old Terence Akindo from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was found with gunshot wounds after officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 4:48 PM. Despite all life-saving efforts, Akindo succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
