On December 10, 2021, at approximately 10:04 PM, Davon Childs, aged 34, was shot and killed in the 2300 block of 4th Street, NE, Washington, DC. The incident occurred in the second-floor hallway of an apartment building. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Childs was struck by multiple gunshots fired from a 9mm semi-automatic handgun.
