In the early evening of August 25, 2023, a tragedy unfolded in Southeast Washington, D.C., that cut short the life of an 18-year-old Black male named Jaqiah Johnson. The incident occurred at approximately 7:08 p.m. in the 2000 block of Naylor Road, SE, just a short distance from an elementary school.
