On Friday, September 1, 2023, a homicide occurred in the 5100 block of Astor Place, Southeast, Washington, D.C. At approximately 1:45 p.m., members of the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District responded to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male who had been shot. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services confirmed that the victim showed no signs of life and pronounced him dead at the scene.
