In the early evening of January 16, 2024, tragedy struck in the 2400 block of S Street, Southeast, in Washington, D.C., when 23-year-old Javonni Coleman was fatally shot. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 5:12 p.m. and discovered Coleman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
