On December 5, 2021, 17-year-old David Jerome Desmond III was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 10:20 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a person shot in the 400 block of Fulton Avenue Southwest. Upon arrival, they discovered Desmond lying unresponsive in the roadway, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
