On June 17, 2016, 19-year-old Daniel Wideman was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 10:25 p.m., officers from the West Precinct responded to reports of a shooting in the 4800 block of Avenue R. Upon arrival, they discovered Wideman suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
